VVSD Board of DirectorsGene Auerbach, Chairman of the Board Mr. Auerbach has been an active member of the VVSD Board of Directors for the past three years. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1988 after a distinguished career as a Naval Supply Corps Officer achieving the rank of Captain. While on active duty he served in numerous billets, most notably, Supply Officer of the USS Enterprise (CVN-65), Deputy Project Manager for the Harpoon missile system and was the only Supply Officer to ever direct a Naval Aviation Development Project. In his second career, Mr. Auerbach became a leader in five multi-billion dollar retail and consumer goods organizations: Price Club/Costco where he became the CIO responsible for the merging of the two IT Systems, Jardines, headquartered in Hong Kong, AutoZone, Estee Lauder Organization and his current position as SAIC Program Manager for a Navy Inventory Control Point management system. Other community contributions include his recent appointment as the incoming President of the San Diego Kiwanis Foundation. Vic Bianchini, Vice Chairman of the Board Judge Victor "Vic" Bianchini has a distinguished career in both the civilian and military worlds. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as a Colonel and is a recipient of 24 decorations, including the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star with Combat V. In the civilian community he has served in public service since 1968 starting as a Commissioner for the U. S. District court and retiring as a Superior Court Judge for San Diego County. He has been recalled as a settlement judge for the U.S. District Court for Western District of New York.
