"Leave No One Behind"

Veteran Looking For A Job?

If you are a veteran struggling to find a job, or need job training, we are here to help. We provide employment placement and training for all veterans, unless you received a dishonorable discharge. We do our best to support you by working with employers who want to hire veterans.

Enrollment Process
The enrollment process consists of an orientation and assessment testing. No appointment is necessary.

  • Orientation every Thursday at 11 a.m.
The orientation will inform you of our services in detail and the requirements and procedures for enrollment. You must attend an orientation prior to taking the assessment test.
  • Assessment testing every Friday at 8:00 a.m.
The test measures aptitude, abilities and skill levels.

Once you have taken the assessment test, you will be asked to enroll into the VVSD Employment Program. You will then be assigned to a highly trained employment case worker who will assist you every step of the way. While carefully considering your interests and values, your case worker will help you figure out in which occupations you will most likely succeed. We regularly run workshops on resume writing and job search techniques, and we give financial aid to veterans to pay for job training, transportation, tools and even clothing for work.

VVSD’s services include career assessments and guidance, job search and training assistance and other supportive services (clothing, tools, transportation, etc.) as necessary to ensure job readiness and successful placements.
