Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Stand Down. This is the 30th anniversary of Stand Down and each Stand Down has been successful because the help and dedication of our volunteers.

This year we will be accepting volunteers through our trusted partner, InitLive, which will allow for you to sign up for volunteer services and authorize your slot based on availability. When is Stand Down 2017?

Stand Down 2017 is being held July 21-23, 2017.

Where is Stand Down 2017?

Stand Down is held at the San Diego High School upper athletic field located at 1405 Park Blvd.

Initlive and VVSD does not share your personal information.

What if I do not have internet access?

Please call 619-393-2000 for assistance.

How do I volunteer as a group?

VVSD no longer holds slots for groups. If you wish to organize a group volunteer effort, please email us at volunteer@vvsd.net and the volunteer coordinator will assist you.

Where do I park?

Directions to Stand Down and parking instructions may be found on Initlive under “Event Documents.”

 Can my child volunteer or accompany me at Stand Down?

All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Children under 18 years of age may not volunteer or accompany a volunteer.

May I bring my dog?

Volunteers may not bring pets to Stand Down.

What should I wear or bring to Stand Down?

Please dress appropriately for hot weather conditions. Organizational tee-shirts, closed toe shoes, hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are highly encouraged. Folding chairs are also encouraged.

Is water and food provided to volunteers?

Water is provided to volunteers, but food is not. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own food and a water container.

How can I donate to Stand Down?

Financial donations may be mailed to Stand Down Director, Veterans Village of San Diego, 4141 Pacific Hwy, San Diego, CA 92110.  In-Kind Donations may be delivered to our warehouse 2061 Kurtz St, San Diego, 92110 Monday – Friday 7AM-3PM
