Permanent Housing

Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD) offers housing options to eligible veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Housing on our main campus provides fully furnished rooms with laundry facilities on site and supportive services. Our permanent housing complex (Vet Villas) in Escondido, CA, offers 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units. 

bRIDGE HOUSING

Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD) Bridge Housing is a short-term transitional housing program for veterans who have been offered and accepted a permanent housing intervention (e.g. SSVF, HUD-VASH, and Housing Coalition/CoC) but are not able to immediately enter a permanent housing unit.

Transition Housing

Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD)’s Transitional Housing provides veterans with temporary housing helping them to become independent in mainstream society. Services including case management are available to those veterans interested in additional support.

Supportive Services for Veteran Families

Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD) offers rapid-housing services for veterans (individuals and families) who are experiencing homelessness or are about to be evicted. 

If you are in need of immediate assistance, please call or text (619) 339-0111

Services include: rental assistance, utility deposit and utility assistance, rental arrears assistance, case management and housing location assistance. Moving costs, emergency supplies, transportation services and childcare services are also available.

Veteran families must meet the
following minimum criteria to be
eligible for VVSD services.

Veteran Family

A "veteran family" is defines as either a veteran or head of household or the spouse of the head of household who is a veteran.

Housing Status

The veteran must be homeless, living on the street, in a car, emergency shelter, transitional housing or at imminent risk of losing housing. This includes housing provided by family and friends.

Eligibility Requirements

The veteran must have proof of veteran discharge status (DD-214 or other VA documentation) prior to enrollment.

Dishonorable discharges are not eligible.

Verified household income at or below 50% based on HUD area median income level and household size.
