We invite you to be a part of this powerful effort to serve all veterans - at-risk and unhoused veterans, active-duty service members, and their families.

Event Dates:
Friday, August 8, 2025 – Saturday, August 9, 2025
Service Provider Hours: 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM each day

About the 2025 VVSD Stand Down Resource Event:
Since 1988, Veterans Village of San Diego has hosted an annual Stand Down event, providing at-risk and unhoused veterans and their families with critical resource to help them with resources needed to regain their lives outside of the military.  This year, the Stand Down Resource Event proudly expands its services to support all veterans — including active-duty service members, and their families with services including:

• Housing Assistance
• Mental Health Care
• VA Medical Services
• Substance Abuse Treatment
• Workforce Development
• Employers Interviewing and Hiring at the Event
• Financial Assistance
• Legal Support
• Dental and Vision Care
• Food and Clothing
• Holistic Health Care: Reiki, Yoga, Sound Bowl, and Chiropractic Services
• Financial Education
• Art and Music Therapy
• Educational Workshops and Classes: Offering a variety of sessions focused on veteran advocacy, employment readiness, mental health, legal rights, wellness, and life skills to help veterans build knowledge, confidence, and stability for their future.

The Veterans Village of San Diego Stand Down is one of the most recognized and highly attended Stand Down events in the nation.  Veterans Village of San Diego is proud to have founded the very first Stand Down in 1988 — a model of service and support that has since been replicated by communities across the United States.

• Connect directly with all veterans - at-risk and unhoused veterans, active-duty members, and their families.
• Share your services, programs, and resources with those who need them most.
• Raise awareness about your organization’s mission.
• Strengthen community partnerships in support of all veterans.

Important Event Details:

• No fee for participation by Government Agencies and organizations with an existing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Veterans Village of San Diego.
• $500 fee for organizations and companies without an MOU or government affiliation.  Payment can be paid at https://vvsd.net/community-partner/ or by using the QR Code below (This fee helps offset event-related expenses as we are a nonprofit organization)

Set-Up and Tear-Down Times:

• Set-Up: Thursday, August 7th, 2:00 PM – 6:00pm
• Tear-Down: Saturday, August 9th, 5:00 PM – 7:00pm

You will need to provide:

• One (1) 10x10 Pop-Up Tent Space
• Chairs
• One (1-2) Tables for your tent
• Trash can

Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD) will provide:

• A beautiful, modern event space with ample parking and easy access to local restaurants
• Electrical hookups (as requested)
• Internet connectivity
• Name/Company listed on VVSD website and Directory at the event
• A hospitality tent stocked with water and snacks for all participants over both days
• Access to outdoor restroom facilities
• Live entertainment to enhance the event atmosphere
• Comprehensive marketing and public relations outreach to promote veteran attendance
• And much more!

Day 1: Opening Ceremony

• Held on Friday, August 8th at 9:00 AM.

               Includes the Color Guard, National Anthem, Pledge of Allegiance and Opening  

               Remarks.

               (We kindly ask that all partners pause services for 30 minutes to attend this    

                 important kickoff moment)

Day 2: Standing United:  A Celebration Circle of Strength, Hope, and Community –     

               Honoring the Journey Ahead. 

• Held on Saturday, August 9th at 12:00pm – the main Stand Down Resource Event will close at 5:00pm

Weekly Community Partner Meetings:
VVSD will host weekly Zoom meetings every Monday at 3:00 PM starting April 21, 2025, through August 4, 2025, to ensure smooth coordination and communication. We strongly encourage all participating organizations to attend.
