USMC Veteran Goes From Shelter to College

USMC veteran James D. spent six months at our Temporary Bridge Shelter before coming into our Bridge Transitional Housing program. Right now, he is living in a VVSD apartment while he gets his affairs in order. He just enrolled in college and accessed his VASH benefits and is currently working on finding employment and moving out on his own.

James had this to say about his case manager and other VVSD staff:

“I love the fact that they’re patient, they work with you and they don’t just point you in directions and tell you ‘go handle this, go handle that’, they’re actually figuring out what you need for your life and you situation.”

Keep moving forward James! You’re doing great!
